World Heroes (ALM-005)

World Heroes (ALM-005) is a collection of four fighting games developed by ADK with help from SNK for the Neo Geo arcade and home consoles.
The game has been converted to a variety of non-SNK platforms throughout the years, including the Super NES and the Sega Saturn. Around 1999, a fifth World Heroes Pocket game was announced for the Neo Geo Pocket, however it was subsequently canceled.
The original World Heroes employs only three of the four normal Neo-Geo buttons: one for punching, one for kicking, and the last button for kicking, rather than the 6-button configuration found in many other combat games. throw. The first two buttons can be held down for longer for more powerful attacks, similar to the original Street Fighter control scheme, which had only two power levels and used regular buttons rather than pneumatic buttons. Four basic attacks can be assigned to separate buttons in the SNES version (and succeeding games, starting with World Heroes 2 Jet). Each character in World Heroes Perfect features a typical four-button attack layout, however more powerful attacks can be obtained by simultaneously hitting two punch or kick buttons.
