Duke Nukem: Time to Kill

Although there is more of an emphasis on action than exploration, the gameplay and controls are quite similar to those of Tomb Raider. The Evil Dead, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the Back to the Future films, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, and the James Brown song "I Got You (I Feel Good)" are among the many comedic references made by the game to Tomb Raider.

In the game's two-player deathmatch mode, two players can engage in combat in settings that are roughly based on the single-player stages pertaining to various eras. By locating stopwatches or "Surprises," players of the single-player game can also access the multiplayer stages. The reward for completion is to keep the enhanced weapon for the rest of the game. If these hidden things are discovered, the player is offered the chance to take on a horde of foes in the multiplayer stages utilizing an upgraded version of the current weapon.
