Star Wars Arcade (Europe)

The player controls an X-wing fighter as Luke Skywalker ("Red Five") from a first-person view. The controls include a yoke with four buttons: two trigger types and two thumb-press positions. Each button fires a laser from one of the four leading edges of the X-Wings.
To move forward in the game, the player doesn't have to destroy every TIE Fighter and gun turret. Instead, the player has to stay alive for a certain amount of time by killing enemies or avoiding the shots they fire. The player starts with six shields, but each time an enemy or projectile hits them, they lose one. If a player loses all of his or her shields and then takes another hit, the game is over.
Each wave of the game has three stages of attack that end with the Death Star being destroyed.
