Eternal Champions - Challenge from the Dark Side

Most special attacks in Eternal Champions: Challenge from the Dark Side use less special attack bars than they did in the last game. Some special attacks don't use up the special attack meter at all. Combo attacks are also added, and jump attacks can be linked to ground attacks. Most normal attacks, however, can only be linked to other normal attacks. You can also do light "juggling" combos by getting an extra hit in on an opponent who is already in the air.

The game also has three new types of ending moves. The first is "Sudden Death," the second "Overkill" in each level. It can be used while the victim still has some health. The other two attacks, "Vendetta" and "Cinekill," can be used on an opponent who is stunned and has less than 20% health left in the final round. Unexpected deaths and vengeance are usually the most bloody, so the original Overkills were made more bloody to match. In the Overkills (and Sudden Deaths), the winner is sent out of the ring as soon as the fatal blow is delivered. From the first Eternal Champion, the game keeps the Overkills, which are moves that end a stage. It also adds moves for new stages. To complete them, the player must beat their opponent in a way that makes sure they land in a certain spot on the ground. If they land in the right place, the life bars will go away and some background elements will kill them.
