Flashback - The Quest for Identity

This game is called Flashback: The Quest for Identity. Each level has a lot of non-scrolling screens, and almost all of them have more than one level. The player character, Conrad, has to jump, grab onto ledges, climb, use elevators, and fall down to get to the lower floors. Conrad runs fast and can jump like a real person, but he also has a real weakness: he will die if he falls from a high place.

Conrad also has a pistol with unlimited bullets, a force shield that can take a certain number of shots before it needs to be recharged (this is his health, or how many attacks he can take before he dies), and a portable force field that can act as a temporary barrier to stop enemy shots.

As Conrad moves through the seven levels of the game, he faces more and more spatial puzzles that require the player to figure out how to get him to his goal. At the end of the game, Conrad gets a device that lets him teleport. He can move forward by throwing the device and teleporting to places he couldn't reach before.
