Yakusoku no Chi Riviera (J)
Yakusoku no Chi Riviera (J) is a classic game that was released in the US in 2005 (with support from Atlus USA), but this engaging RPG was originally available on WonderSwan Color (also works on SwanCrystal) nearly three years earlier. There are numerous references to Norse Mythology in The Riviera, including the names of the people and their surroundings. After a massive battle between the gods of Asgard (known as Ragnarok) and the demons of Utgard (known as Armageddon), the earth was plunged into a state of utter chaos. On the eve of annihilation, Asgard is infested by demons. The gods broke an ancient taboo in order to bestow immense strength on them in their time of need. The Angels of Death were created as a result of their own self-sacrifice. When the angels, armed with their own special weapons known as "Diviners," entered the fray, they put an end to the conflict. The demons were imprisoned, but the gods became overextended and vanished.
On the PlayStation Store, it is also available on the PlayStation Vita version of the PlayStation Portable version. The Dept. Heaven's first title is this one.
The PSP version of the game comes with a detailed manual. interviews with Shinichi Ito and Sunaho Tobe, the game and character creators, and extra art from the game. Players can also choose from a variety of various tunes to suit their moods and surroundings in the game. A few are gloomy and ominous, while others are daring and pessimistic. Music is well-balanced and there is something for everyone in the game. Note that the GBA version of the game has a partial voiceover, whereas the PSP version has a complete voiceover (which is still excellent for a GBA title).
