Lawnmower Man, The

The PC and Sega CD versions are interactive movies, but all three cartridge versions are platform games. Dr. Angelo or Carla Parkette, Joe's best friend's mother, will be controlled in side-scrolling shooters like Contra and Metal Slug. Weapon upgrades and data discs are collected. After collecting several data discs, the player's Virtual Suit protects them from blows.
The player visits film locations like Harley's Gas 'Er Up and VSI headquarters. The movie's CG sequence inspired the game's true 3D level connectors. These involve VR obstacle avoidance and occasional high-speed shooting. Four levels—Virtual World, Cyber War, Cyber Run, and Electronic Tube—have different approaches. Virtual World is played in first-person and requires dodging trees and domes to reach the exit. Cyber War is Virtual World with stops. Cyber Tube is a VR tunnel with lots of enemies and fast travel, while Cyber Run is a third-person shooter.
