The game is played from a bird's eye view. The length of the game can be adjusted from the standard 45 minutes to as little as one minute every inning. The 'home' team chooses a coin toss, after which the game will start. The player can decide to have less dribbling control, which causes the game ball to slide in the player's direction of movement; manual goalkeeper control, which gives the player control over all goalkeeper saves and shots; ball trap, which prevents the player from shielding the ball and allows an opponent to steal it without handling; and no pass-back rules were implemented during the 1994 World Cup, which allowed a goalkeeper to pass the ball back to an opponent.
