X-Men vs Street Fighter (961004 Euro)
Capcom produced and published X-Men vs. Street Fighter, a crossover fighting game. Following X-Men: Children of the Atom and Marvel Super Heroes, this is Capcom's third fighting game featuring Marvel characters, and the first in the Marvel vs. Capcom series. The game features characters from both Marvel's X-Men and Capcom's Street Fighter series, as the title suggests. It was first launched in 1996 as a coin-operated arcade game, then ported to the Sega Saturn in 1997 and the PlayStation in 1998.
The gameplay in X-Men vs. Street Fighter is identical to that of Street Fighter, but with the addition of dual character selection and team combat. Each player selects two characters to compete against the opposite side in a one-on-one match. Throughout the game, players can switch between their characters at any time. Many elements from X-Men: Children of the Atom and Marvel Super Heroes are also included in the game.
